Red Hot Poker or Torch Lily!

[gallery link="file"]

This Red hot poker or torch lily is so pretty in person and it's blooming in my garden right now! I don't really know much anything about this plant. When I came here seven years ago, it's already planted in the yard by my husband's ex-wife! Good thing I am not one of those people that freaks out when their bf or husband's ex left something behind and try to get rid off everything! All I can say is this plant is gorgeous and nobody is gonna lay a finger on it as long as I'm alive!

7 Years and Counting...(Treasured Moments)

Hubby and I celebrated our 7th anniversary the other day, the 27th of this month. It was also the same day that I set foot on this land. We decided to get married the same day I arrived here because we did not want to live together, you can say we are on an old-fashion side. Anyway, for our anniversary we were gonna go out to eat and do some other things but it didn't happen because the night before it was really weird that I suddenly felt so depressed! I decided that night that I wasn't going anywhere the next day, I was feeling so frustrated that I just couldn't stand it!

I thought for sure that weird feeling would go away the next day and was hoping that we would be able to go out to celebrate our anniversary but it didn't! I was still feeling depress when I woke up but I managed to prepare my little presents for my hubby, put it in the gift bag and left at our bedroom door so when he wakes up it will be the first thing he'll see. So noon came, he got up and saw the gift, he greeted me and I did the same thing. He thanked me for the gift and I told him to open it. He opened it and I'm so glad that he loved everything in it! I got him two watches, one is a casual watch and the other one is a dress watch and I also got him a work boots! After I saw him opened his gifts and how much he loved everything I felt fine then! That was really weird! But I am really glad that even though we did not do anything special that we still had a good anniversary!

I am so thankful to the Lord above for those blessings HE showered us in those seven years we've been married especially for our two lovely boys! I will be forever thankful for them! I am looking forward for another 7 more years or more to celebrate with my hubby. Our marriage has not been perfect but we managed to overcome all those obstacles as long as we do it together. Those obstacles made us stronger couple!

Scarlet Wednesday #5: Hybrid Dahlia

Image

I bought this Hybrid Dahlia at Walmart a month ago. I just couldn't resist even though I was pretty aware that I didn't have any place to put it. It was just too beautiful to ignore! I did find a place to put it, in a pot. I think it is the perfect spot for it because this kind of Dahlia is evidently not a perennial plant but an annual! I have so many Dahlias in my garden that are perennials but there are only two came up this year. I guess the rest is dead I'm assuming. Oh well, I guess it was a good thing I bought more although they are not coming back next year, it just means that I can plant different flowers in my pot next year and not get stuck on the same plants!

Mommy Moments #5: Trying His Best...

I had a big kick of my youngest son last night for he was trying his best to crawl. I put him down in the floor with his toys and just let him do whatever he wants to do. He turned over and was trying to play with his toy, after a while, he looked like he got tired of fooling around with his toys so he turned around the other way and was heading towards under the table. He was trying so hard and his best to crawl at 5 months old.

Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to take a picture of him but instead took a couple of videos. That's what I was going to share on this week's Mommy Moments but I did not know if video is allowed or not. But anyway, I am sharing a photo of my youngest son knocked out from all that hard work that he did! He was sleeping like he never slept all week! LOL! But if you all are interested to see the video, I uploaded it on my other blog and you can check it here to watch it!

My little angel so tired and worn out!

Scarlet Wednesday #4: The Hummers Are Back!

So happy to know that the hummers or hummingbirds are finally back for the summer. My husband saw them the other day while I was napping in the couch and told me that it's about time to make the nectar again. So when I woke up from my slumber that was the first thing that I did. It is very easy to make the nectar, it is a ratio of 4:1, 4 cups of water and one cup of sugar and then you can just add a little bit of food coloring, I think it's to attract the hummingbird or just for looks or something, I really don't know what's the food coloring for to tell you the truth, lol! But anyhow, the hummingbirds migrates to the south every winter and comes back  every summer. I am just so thrilled that they are finally back, I get so much enjoyment watching them fight over a homemade nectar.

Based on my observation, they seem very territorial birds. When a hummingbird already took over a feeder they don't want any other hummers to feed from it or else there will be troubles, lol! It is so much fun to watch them chase each other. And also once they get use to you, they can be very friendly and let you watch them eat while you are standing so close to them...Anyway, I can't wait to take lots of pictures of them, that's the only thing missing in my picture. I tried so hard yesterday to take one but they're just too fast, but I won't let summer end until I capture a lovely picture of one of them!

Treasured Moments: Happy 5 Month Old Gabriel!

It is so amazing how kids grow up so quick these days! I can't believe my youngest son Gabriel James just turned 5 months old at 10:19 am today! Men! Where did the days go?? I can't believe it's been that long since I have given birth to him. It seems like only yesterday he was kicking inside my womb wondering when he's coming out and now looking at him just amazes me how he has grown! I am just so glad that I am a stay at home mom for I get to see both of my kid's development, changes and the milestones that they reached! So lucky and thankful to our Lord above for these blessings!

My New Found Hobby...

There are so many things that I love doing. Well, I guess you can say I have so many hobbies that keeps me occupied at home but I haven't really done any of it since I got pregnant with my second son last year. I did find a new hobby that has been occupying me lately and that is photography. I have been so addicted of taking pictures of almost everything. I bought my dslr camera on October of last year. The main reason why I decided to buy one because of my second child. I have seen what kind of pictures these dslr cameras takes and I wanted to get my own so I can take a crispy clear pictures of my new baby! I don't have any regrets whatsoever for getting my own dslr! Of course I did not pay it in cash, I did not have the cash to pay for it, I had to pay for it every month but I am so glad that it's paid for now just last month!

Anyway, the other hobbies that I've been neglecting are as follows..scrapbooking, oil painting, crafting and jewelry-making. I also love gardening but I have been doing that and I'm still not done gardening in my yard. I guess that's the only one that I have not forgotten yet! LOL! I really would like to get back on track on my other hobbies especially scrapbooking! I need to finish that scrapbook that I started for our Women's Guild in our church. I am way behind on that and we are gonna have another fund-raising activities this year so I need to get back on track on that to keep up. And another thing, I also miss oil painting, the last time I painted was 3 or 4 years ago. I just hope that I still remember how to do it. I've been meaning to buy some more canvas at Michael's but always forget to do it when I'm there and I also need more oil paint colors. Anyhow, below are some of the paintings that I've done in the past...looking at these paintings really makes me want to paint one right now!

The first picture is my first original but I gave it away to someone from church. The other paintings were painted by me but were inspired by the other artist's original works!

There are so many of these growing in our yard right now that needs some serious mowing and weeding! LOL...I thought it was so pretty up close, don't you think?

Always thankful to the LORD above for giving me these precious gifts!

Scarlet Wednesday #3: His Easter Basket...

[gallery link="file"]

Me and my family had a wonderful Easter on Sunday! We started out our day by going to church to attend the Easter Sunday mass. We told our son the day before that if he's a good boy the Easter bunny will bring him an Easter basket full of goodies. He must have been a good boy because Sunday morning when he opened the door a basket full of goodies indeed was waiting for him. He was just so happy to see it! He loved everything in that basket especially the Super Mario stuffed toy, it's one of his favorite characters! He was so thankful to the Easter for being so generous!

Shopping Your Way!

For me, shopping online is as good as shopping in the actual store, maybe better. I do most of my shopping online myself right in the comfort of my own home. But of course there's always a downside to everything. The only downside I could think of by shopping online is you could not touch or try the actual product but you can always return it if you don't like how it's made, since most stores online offers returns. In my opinion, shopping online is more convenient , not only it saves you time and money but in my opinion they have bigger selection of items than the actual store...

This is what I like about become.com! This is a one site where you can find exactly what you're looking for and at the same time compare the prices. You can find your favorite name brand products for discounts and lowest prices possible. You can find the best deals on become.com from 2 carat cushion cut diamond to 17 circumference boots or 17 inch circumference boots. You can even depend on their product research engine for advice on what you’re shopping for online. This is a one great and a-must try site!

Today's Flowers #3: White Hyacinths...

[gallery link="file"]

I was really surprised last week when I saw white Hyacinths blooming in my garden. I did not know I planted white ones there. It really surprises me what comes out and blooms in my garden because I planted so many that I couldn't keep up. Anyway, I still haven't had the chance to do anything in my garden, it needs some serious work. I already have plans drawn in my mind on what to do but the time is not permitting me yet. Hopefully this week I'll be able to do it. I really want to have a better garden this year..Anyhow, I hope you all have/had a good Easter Sunday!

Mommy Moments #3: A Thoughtful And Unselfish Gesture of a 5-year Old...(Treasured Moments)

We all know that kids do some crazy things sometimes but they can also be full of  surprises when out of the blue they'll just blurt out something sweet or do something so thoughtful and very unselfish...an example of this is my 5-year old son. The other day when I picked him up at the bus stop (I happened to bring my camera that day to take some pictures of whatever I see that's pleasing to my eyes), we were walking in the driveway, my son was ahead of me, didn't notice what  he was doing for I was busy taking pictures of this flower that's growing beside our driveway. Next thing I knew, my son was in front of me handing me a dandelion and said "Mama, I brought you something...I want you to blow this dandelion so your dreams will come true". I was speechless for a moment and then it occurred to me that I needed to take a picture of him handing me the dandelion, it was just the sweetest moment for me I was very touched! Such a thoughtful and unselfish gesture of a 5-year old that happened to be my son. He could have easily blown the dandelion as much as he loves to do it but he gave it to me instead! Above is the picture that I snapped when that "Mommy Moment" was happening...

And below are some of the pictures that I took of him when he found another dandelion to blow for himself. He was so happy to found another one because he wanted to make a wish so his dreams will come true too ( he was wishing for another Nintendo 3DS but unfortunately that will remain a dream for now because mama and daddy couldn't afford to buy another expensive toy and he's already got one!). Anyhow, it is so amazing how much a little thing like a dandelion can bring so much happiness to a child. Such an innocent face full of happiness and contentment!
