He Loved The Water

The other day I took my kids and my stepdaughter and her boyfriend to the community pool. That was my youngest son's first trip to the pool. Based on how he reacts when I give him a bath at home, I already knew that he is going to love the water. But I didn't know how he'd react to the cold water since I only use warm water for him when he takes a bath. It really surprised me that the cold water in the pool didn't faze him a bit. He was enjoying the heck out of it. He was actually trying to crawl out from his little floater, I had such a good time watching him!

On the other hand, my oldest son was still very scared to get in the big pool. I knew he still remember that time when he almost drowned, so that's probably the reason why hesitates to get in the big pool. But I am not gonna rush him. I know one day he'll be ready and won't be scared anymore...

Sharing His Toys With His Little Brother

I am really proud of my 6-year old son for being so generous with his toys and letting his little brother play with them, although he knows that he might drool all over them. As long as the little one  is having a good time, he could care less about the drools! I am really glad that he is not stingy about sharing his toys to his brother.

The little one is now starting to appreciate the fun a toy can bring. He now wanders everywhere in the house trying to find something pleasing and fun to play with. I snapped some photos of him earlier playing with his brother's blocks and I tell you he had a good time! And then big bro came in the picture and made it a lot funner! Anyway, above photos were some of the pictures that I snapped earlier...

Goodbye Papa Forever!

Yesterday, Monday Philippine-time was my father's burial. I didn't even bother to call because it was just too heartbreaking for me! I wish I could have gone there to see my father for the last time but of course if you think about it in a practical way, it won't really change anything. But if I had the money it would have been worth it. Anyway, it still unbelievable to me that my papa is gone forever. I still think that it is just impossible to happen to our family! Oh Lord wherever he is I hope he is happy and one day we will meet again!

Need A New Fitting

I have so many things to do around this house but so little time left. My stepdaughter is coming for summer to spend with us together with her boyfriend and I only have a couple of days to finish everything that I need to do including fixing and replacing the bathroom fitting. It is very important that we get it done because they'll be using it everyday for almost 3 weeks and I would hate for her and her boyfriend to use a messed up bathroom.

There are just too many wrong in that bathroom that I just don't think we'll be able to fix it in time. The  sink and bath tub faucets are leaking bad. I guess that will be our top priority to fix because the sound of leakage alone is so annoying. I want our guest to be as comfortable as possible and the bathroom being so close to my stepdaughter's bedroom, I am sure they'll hear the dropping sound in the middle of the night.  So I got to tell hubby to get it fix now before the time of their arrival comes!

My Oldest Son's New Favorite Toy

[gallery link="file" columns="2"]

I'm sure everybody knows about the Angry Bird Game. It is such an addicting game. I believe most people when they get to try it out the first time will be wanting to play it again and again, it happened to me! And not just me, also my husband and 6-year old son. It only took one time for him to try it out and he's hooked!

So the other day, when we were at the mall, we stopped by at JCPenney's to look at their kids clothing. Of course there were Angry Bird shirts that were hanging around at the boy's section and one thing that caught my 6-year old son's attention was this Angry Bird game. I mean the actual game where you get to build your own platform and it comes with two birds that you can shoot using the sling shot that comes with it. I did not want to buy it at first because it was a little too high. But then I changed my mind when I saw the disappointment of my son's face but he didn't it enforce it.

He was very thrilled when I told him to go ahead and get it. That joy and excitement was definitely worth the price. And now this is his new favorite toy to play. It is actually very neat and of course just like the computer game Angry Bird but you really do have to work hard on building the platform because they are not too easy to do, it takes a lot of patience. But anyway, it is definitely occupying my 6-year old. I am so glad that I decided to buy it for him!

He Will Be Missed!

I received a terrible news yesterday evening from my sister calling from the Philippines that our father had passed away yesterday morning. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing and asked my sister numerous times if she was really serious. And yes she was serious, my father has left this earth! I was almost hysterical when I hung up the phone with my sister, it was just too unreal for me. The pain is just too unbearable! Now me and my siblings are fatherless and my mama I'm sure will be lonely without her mate. That's two loved ones that we lost in 3 years. In 2009, I lost my second oldest brother and we haven't even gotten over it!

Anyway, after letting all my pains and sorrows out last night. I got to thinking that I shouldn't be sad because my father is in a much better place now and I'm sure he won't be lonely wherever he is because my brother is with him! It just sucks that I couldn't go home and be with my family especially my mother who I am sure is in a lot of pain right now. I just want to hug her and console her. It is just an awful feeling. I wish there is something I can do but the only thing that I can do right where I am at now is to provide financial support and help with the funeral cost which I already sent the money earlier today. I wish there is more I can do! I wish I can go back! I wish..I wish..I wish! So much wishesssss that will never happen!

A Nice Little Chit-Chat With My Younger Sister

I feel so good right now for I got to chat with my younger sister a little while ago. This is very seldom to happen because she doesn't get online often because of her busy schedule. We had so much fun just talking and laughing about random things. How I miss my family so much. This homesickness feeling will not go away unless we go back in the Philippines.

I don't see that happening anytime soon for we are having hard time here financially too. I'll just have to focus on paying off our debts, that means no more spending or wasting money on junks that we don't need. As soon as I pay off our debts I'll be saving my money to hopefully go in the Philippines for a vacation, hopefully by  2014. That is if no big catastrophic events will happen this year or next year!

Late Father's Day Treat

We finally went out today to eat at Chili's for my husband's Father's Day treat.  I know it's almost a month late but there were so many things going on around here that we didn't had the chance to do it until today. It was my mother-in-law's treat for my husband (her son). We had a good time, enjoyed the food at Chili's as usual. I ordered the baby back ribs this time because the first two times we've been there we had the classic rib-eye. Their steak was really good, one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in a restaurant but today I wanted to try something different from their menu so I tried their baby back ribs.

To me it was okay but it wasn't too filling, maybe if I had ordered the full rack it would have been satisfying. I only got the half rack because the full rack was as much as their classic rib-eye which was a little bit pricey for me and it didn't want my mother-in-law to pay too much for our lunch! I was a little disappointed of the ribs because it wasn't really much and it only came with a homemade fries. Well the next time we're going there, I am just gonna stick with the classic rib-eye!

Happy Birthday To My Beloved Papa

Today July 12th, 2012 Philippine time is my beloved papa's birthday! This is really embarrassing but I don't know exactly how old he is today. Well I do have a very good excuse for not remembering how old my father is. First, he is thousands of miles away from me and we don't really communicate regularly. I know it sounds bad but it's true and it's nobody's fault because I have my own family to take care of here and they are very busy with their life there as well. I mean we used to chat almost everyday with my sisters and see each other on the webcam and I truly miss those days but now they are working and busy, we hardly do it anymore. I'll be lucky if I get to chat or talk to them once a month!

So anyway, I called my father earlier to greet him happy birthday but unfortunately he wasn't able to come to the phone and talk to me because he couldn't hardly hear. There are just too many things wrong with my father, he is very sick that it affected his sense of hearing and can't hardly talk. I just feel awful that I couldn't be there and take care of him. Lord knows how much I want to be with my family right now! Of course it's always the financial issue that's in the way! I know I shouldn't feel bad about it because everybody is having hard times these days! But anyhow, I know my father won't be able to read this but I still want to greet him a very Happy and memorable birthday and I love him with all my heart! Thank you so much papa for being such a wonderful father to us!

Six Flags Over Georgia

Me and hubby has been talking about going to Six Flags Over Georgia in a few weeks. My stepdaughter and her boyfriend are coming and are wanting to go some places that we've never been and I think Six Flags might be the perfect place for all of us to enjoy. It's not the first I have been to amusement park like Six Flags. I have been to Carowinds twice and I'm telling you what I love riding the roller coasters! I was scared at first because I have never rode any roller coasters before not even a ferries wheel but when I got to try it out the first time, oh man, it was addicting! Very scary but addicting, I guess that's what they call adrenaline rush! LOL

Anyway, me and hubby has been talking about how to drive there the cheapest way. There will be at least 8 people including our two boys. We couldn't all fit in our car unless we take two cars. But we are trying to figure if it's cheaper to take two cars or just rent a van. We are trying to do this as cheaply as possible, so we really got to think about this really good. I am really looking forward to this. I have never been to Georgia before and this will be my opportunity to do some sight-seeing while driving towards Georgia. It is at least 4 hours drive, I'm sure it'll be fun, I hope!

My Little Helper

[gallery link="file" columns="2"]

So proud of my oldest son for being such a good helper to me! The other day while I was folding clothes, out from nowhere, he came in the bedroom and decided to help me fold the clothes. I did not tell him no or anything like that even though his folding wasn't too neat, in fact I encouraged him to do so because he does needs to learn basic chores like folding clothes. I don't want him to be one of those guys who depends on women to do everything for them. I taught him basic responsibilities at an early age like throwing his garbage in the trash can or pick up his clothes and put it in the laundry basket or clean up his mess, etc..

Anyway, after folding the clothes he even washed the dishes for me and he did a good job too. You can see above where I snapped some pictures of him doing the chores. I was just so thrilled to see my boy getting so responsible and I am a one proud mama too! Hopefully being helpful like he is now, he'll bring it with him until he's full grown man. I would know then if I did a good job raising my kids!

Hummingbird Shots Finally!

[gallery link="file" columns="2"]

Pictures above are just two of almost a hundred that I took of the hummingbirds months ago! These are the two of my favorite shots. Like I said before, you got to have a lot of patience to be able to get a shot of hummingbirds for they are so fast little creatures! They can appear and disappear in one blink of an eye, that's how fast they are. It took a lot of my patience to captured these pictures and I am just so happy that I took some decent ones!

Ab Toning Belts Is What I Need

I just celebrated my 26th birthday with my family and friends in my house and it was one of those memorable ones! I decided to cook  some of my native dishes which means I ate as twice as much as my regular food intake. That means I'm gonna gain more weight here in a few days which is not good at all since I'm already struggling to lose those extra pounds that I don't want. My problem is mostly around my stomach area and arms. I don't have any problems somewhere else except for those two areas...

So I am reading about this flex belt reviews  to see what other people are saying about this product. I may have to use one of those belts to help me achieve a toner belly. I want to target the place I have issue with and not just thin down other areas that are not needed to be thinned down. I mean I like my weight now but I am still dealing with a saggy tummy that I got from my second pregnancy. It's not very easy to get rid off it honestly, so maybe I need a little help to get rid off it!

Birthday Menus

I decided instead of going out to eat on my birthday to just cook some Filipino foods. I told my friend about it who lives nearby from us and she liked the idea and volunteered to come and help me which I thought was so nice. So earlier after my youngest son's follow-up appointment at his pediatrician, we stopped by the Asian store to get some of the ingredients there unfortunately the store was closed. I didn't have any idea that they are close on Sundays! So I had to settle to what I could find at our local grocery store for the foods that I am going to cook. Good thing I found most of the ingredients there but there are still some that are missing but I can cook some of the dish without those ingredients thankfully!

What I decided to make are Lumpia Shanghai or Spring Roll, Humba or Pork Braised with Brown Sugar, Escabeche ( Fried fish cooked in sweet and sour sauce with veggies) and lastly Bihon or Bean thread noodles cooked with cabbage, red and green bell pepper, pork, shrimp, soy sauce and more. That will be plenty enough for all us since I don't have any visitors coming except for my friend. This will be the first time that I am cooking something on my birthday, we usually just go out and eat. I'm sure it will be exhausting but fun!
