My Easter Treats

First and foremost, I want to greet everyone a Happy Easter! I hope everybody is having a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday. I am just so happy that the entire family, including my mother-in-law, attended the Easter Sunday mass. It was such a good feeling knowing that my whole family was there!

Anyway, although my kids didn't get to Easter Egg hunt, they were still happy that the Easter Bunny left them some goodies. My boys both got an Easter Baskets. As for me, they are Easter treats and always will be! Here are few pictures of us taken after the Easter mass this morning...
I was trying to take a picture of them both but the little one couldn't be still for a few seconds, they both feel down! LOL!

Me and my beautiful Easter treats...

Bird Feeder That He Made

I totally forgot all about this bird feeder that my oldest son made in their Sunday School class several months ago. If my mother-in-law didn't buy him a bird house kit yesterday, I would've forgotten all about it. I think this bird feeder is so cute. He did a good job assembling it although there was an adult supervising them and I like the way he painted it too..

Anyway, now that the Spring has started, it's about time to hang it outside. I put a string on it last night so we can hang it on the tree. But first I got to put bird seeds in it, hopefully I still have some left from last year!

Three Days Of No School

My first grader had an advance Spring break I guess. Their school was out for 3 days due to the inclement weather condition that we have had for 3 days! I am glad to see the snow was finally melting today, so I am expecting that the school will resume tomorrow.

My son is very excited to go back to school which I can very well understand. I'm sure he misses his classmates especially his two closest friends. They are also going to have an Easter Egg Hunting tomorrow. The teacher asked for them to bring a dozen of candy-filled Easter Eggs for the said event.

"A Parent's Prayer"

I saw this prayer on Facebook that one of my friends there had shared and I thought this was indeed a wonderful prayer for all parents! God knows how much I need patience on daily basis. When under stress I tend to lose my patience very quickly, I mean who doesn't anyway? But I always pray to GOD to give me more of it because it seems like that's what I am lacking sometimes...

Perfect Score Every Time!

I couldn't be any prouder of my oldest son. Every Friday, they have a spelling test in their class and he comes home with a perfect score every time! Every Monday the teacher sends a piece of paper with words written on it that they'll be spelling on Fridays so they can practice the words. And I tell you, not all the time I'm able to practice with him. Sometimes, I misplace the paper just like this morning or just simple totally forget about it.

But it doesn't bother me anymore when we don't practice because he has proven many times that he is smart enough to spell the words correctly with or without practice! And this really exceeds my expecations and you dang right I'm proud! Very PROUD!!!

My Baby Is Gone!

Don't be alarmed! It's not what you think it is! LOL! I am talking about my baby is gone because he has turned into a young little man. I just got done going through my youngest son's album on Facebook and looked at each and every pictures that's in it and I just couldn't believe how much he has changed! My baby is gone for sure! He just turned 16 months old three days ago. I really miss those days when he was just a baby, so chubby and so dependent on me!

Don't get me wrong, I love him the way he is now and I am just so thankful to GOD that he is as normal as he can be and very handsome too. He is really developing his own personality and can be very stubborn sometimes. He is getting independent as well which is good and bad depending on the situation! I guess this is just a normal feeling that mothers gets once we realize that our baby is not baby anymore! :(

Anyway, below are a couple of pictures, one was taken when he was just a newborn and the one was just taken earlier today....by looking at these pictures you will all know what I am talking about..
This picture was taken at the hospital, one day later after I had given birth to him...
This was taken just yesterday, his most recent picture...

He's Gonna Be Left-Handed!

Me and my husband have noticed that my youngest son uses his left hand more than his right hand. We were thinking that he is gonna be left-handed and I think our little trip outside might have just confirmed it. I didn't notice it while we were out there. I took my camera with me to take some pictures, it was just a gorgeous day today!

But anyway, when I started looking at the pictures that I took, I've noticed that when he was playing at the garden with a handheld hoe, he was holding it with his left hand! Not only that, he also used his left hand to point at something. So I am pretty sure he is gonna be left-handed. Pictures below are some of what I took earlier today...

The Only Way I Can Put Him To Sleep

The only way I can put my youngest son to sleep is by laying with him in his playpen, lay him across my chest (just like in the first picture) while listening to some nursery songs and rocking him at the same time. The first picture was taken last night and the second pic was just taken hours ago when I was putting him for his nap.

I tell you, I do not want to sound so mean. I know this is a nice way to bond with him but at the same, it can be frustrating at times because sometimes no matter how sleepy he is, he will fight it and try to stay awake and then he gets so grumpy and then I get grumpy because I got some other things that I have to finish other than just lay with him for hours at a time!

Every bed time or nap time, it literally takes him over an hour or two before he'll finally conk out. And it is very uncomfortable for me because his playpen is not long enough so I am not able to stretch my legs. But all in all, I do enjoy my time with him especially when I don't have to worry about other things. I guess this is just part of being a parent, savor the time no matter if it's good or bad!

Another Trip To The Doctor

Yesterday when my oldest son got home from school, he was running a fever again of almost 102 degrees. Whatever it was he got 2 weeks ago came back. He was complaining about his stomach hurting and was just crying uncontrollably. I just hate to see him in pain. So my husband called his pediatrician asking for some medicine. But she won't give out any unless she sees them. My youngest son also caught what my oldest son had, well actually, all of us got it now!

Anyhow, so the nurse told my husband that they are gonna have to come to the clinic to see the doctor and so she could look at them. This morning, we went there and she looked at them and basically said that there is not much she can do,  giving him antibiotics  won't do any good since it is some form of virus and it will just make it worse. She asked if his stomach has been  hurting and I told her yes and she told us that there has been a lot of kids that has the same issue. She at least gave him some medicine to take for that. Whatever it is he/we got, I hope it will go away soon! It really pains me to see my kids suffering!

Doing So Well On His Potty Training

I am proud to say that my soon-to-be 16-month old son is doing so good potty training. Since I bought his potty trainer seat about 3 weeks ago, he hardly did the long one in his diaper. In fact, today was the only time that he did it again in his diaper. It's because I got so busy doing something and didn't notice that he needed to do the long one. By the time that I noticed it and took him to the bathroom to potty, he already done it.

But it didn't matter to me! He is doing so well considering he is only 16-month old, well not quite, in about a week more, he'll be officially 16-month old! He is not able to do it on his own yet, I still have to assist and watch him and if I think that he needs to go, I'll ask him if he wants to potty and if he does, he will head towards the bathroom which I find so cute!

If we keep working together, in no time, he'll be potty trained completely. Perhaps, before he'll even turn two years old. That will be great! But of course I am not gonna pressure him or anything like that. I will just keep doing what I'm doing and he'll eventually learn how to do on his own!

Beautiful Day!

Wow! Such a lovely day outside. Me and my youngest just got back in from being outside a few minutes ago. We went to get the mail and strolling around the yard for about 15 minutes. I know it's not much but it was good enough for me to feel the heat of the sun touching our skin! I love days like this, when the sun is shining really brightly but not painful to the skin.

I could have stayed all day out there and so does my little one but I had some business that I needed to finish inside, so we had to go back in! Can't hardly wait for the spring. I am so ready to mulch my garden and see my spring bulbs sprout and start planting vegetables!

Now My Turn To Get Sick!

I knew I will have my turn to get sick. First, it was my oldest son, next, my youngest son and now it's my turn! My nose has been running since the other day and my throat is so itchy and sore! It ready does sucks being sick. I've tried taking medicines but it seems like it's not working!

I try not to think about not feeling good because I have kids to care of and some other things. As much as I hate being sick, nothing really much I can do about it because it is already here. I just got to deal with it the best I can!

Enjoying The Snow!

It's not me nor my youngest son who was enjoying the snow but my oldest son. I don't know how he can tolerate to be outside in that kind of temperature. He was really thrilled to see plenty of snow outside when he woke up this morning, we probably accumulated about 5 inches since last night. The school called and all the schools in our county as well as the other counties are closed. My oldest son got really excited that he didn't have to go to school but instead get to play outside in the snow.

My youngest son never been outside before with this much snow, so I decided to go out as well so I could let him experience what it feels like to be in the snow. I don't think he enjoyed it very much as his big brother did. He didn't move a muscle unless we were dragging him with us and he was just out of balance for some reason that he kept falling face down. I guess the snow was too thick that it was so hard for him to balance himself.

But anyway, after about 5 minutes of being outside I couldn't stand it anymore and I knew my youngest son was freezing for his face and nose were so red! So I told my oldest that we were going in but he insisted to stay outside and play for a while, so I let him while me and youngest son went inside.

My oldest son stayed out for at least 30 minutes more before he finally decided to go back inside complaining that he was freezing! LOL! I told him before I went back inside the house to enjoy his stay outside as much as he can because once he come back inside, I woundn't let him go back out again and I guess he just did that!

Anyhow, I am glad that there are people like my son who enjoys this kind of weather. Winter can be very beautiful but it is just not for me! I am just so ready for spring and I want it NOW!!!!

The Usual Scene

Pictures above is usually what greets me in the morning when my two boys are around. The little one sleeps with us and the big one sometimes, wakes up in the middle of the night and go to our bedroom and sleeps there till morning. And as usual, they both wakes up very early, if it's weekends, the big one usually plays with his DS while waiting for me to wake up and when the little wakes up, he'll take care of him until I am ready to get up. He is just the sweetest big brother I have ever seen!

I can always count on him to watch his little brother. And of course, the little one also loves his big brother's company! I just love how they have this special bond that I have not seen in siblings before! I just hope that this will continue on until they are all grown up!

He's Feeling So Bad!

When my oldest son got sick a week ago, I feared that my youngest son will get it too and sure enough, what I feared for happened! He started getting a fever just two days after my oldest son got over being sick.

One of the worst days a parent faces in their lives is when the kids get sick. It is not a good feeling seeing your kid not feeling good. My youngest son has been running a fever on and off for 3 days now. Nothing really we can do about it since he's only 15 months old and couldn't give him any medicine. And besides, when I took my oldest son to his pediatrician, there was nothing much she can do either except for recommending for him to rest more and drink plenty of liquid.

That is what I have been trying to do with my youngest son but he doesn't have that much appetite. God thing that I haven't weaned him off yet because that's pretty much the only food he is getting! I just hope he'll get better really soon for I hate to see my kids sick! :(
