Turning 7 Years Old In Three Days

Picture above is the most recent picture of my oldest son. He is gonna be turning 7 years old in about 3 days. Such a handsome young man he is. The older he gets, the handsomer he is getting. What can I say I love my own and even if he's not my own flesh and blood, I would still think the same way!

Anyhow, I'm not planning on having a party. I'm just cooking a few of our favorite dishes and have some cake and ice cream. It is also my mother-in-law's birthday the next day so I am thinking to just celebrate their birthdays at the same time. I've been doing that actually for the past 3 years and I wasn't gonna do it this year but I think it is a lot better to just to do it again.

Anyway, I told my son the other day that he won't be getting a cake this time and to my surprised he said it's okay as long as he's got presents! LOL! He is getting older indeed! But that's not going to happen at all, he will have a Super Mario cake again like specifically asked a week ago before I told him that he's not gonna have a cake. He's gonna be surprised, I hope he does because we're not telling him anything, he will just to find it out when he comes home from school what his birthday is gonna be! :)

Occasions Coming Up In The Next Few Weeks

There are a lot of occasions for me get to busy about that are coming up in the next few weeks! First, my husband and I will be celebrating our 8th year anniversary this coming Saturday. Since we already bought a gift for both of us, all that we're gonna be doing on the actual day is to go out to eat.

Then next Friday, my oldest son will be celebrating his 7th birthday and I haven't figured out on what to do on his birthday yet. We already got him presents but I still don't know if it will be better to take him to Chuck E Cheese or surprise him and have a little something for him ready when he comes home from school. I haven't really finalized it yet!

And then after that which is the next day, it'll be my mother-in-law's birthday! Good thing that she's very easy to please. I am just planning on getting her a cake and we got her some gifts that I know for sure will thrill her. So after all the birthdays, it'll be my friend's baby shower! It will be held in our church after mass. I am really looking forward to that and I am so happy for her. It won't be long before she'll be able to hug and kiss her baby girl and she'll find out what a good feeling it is to become a mother!

So do you see how busy I will be in the coming weeks? But I am really looking forward to all of it and can't wait for the actual days to come!

Late Post About My Son's Blacksmithing Event

I know this is kinda late to post my son's blacksmithing event. This was held about a month ago and I've been meaning to blog about it and post some pictures of how it went but I kept forgetting until now. Well it was very interesting and it took a while for the demonstration to finish.

Anyway, picture above is obviously of my son doing his turn of the hands-on demonstration of how blacksmithing is done. They were supposed to make their own knives but the Scout leaders decided and agreed that they will just have to do a hands-on demonstration because it takes about 20-30 minutes to have one knife done and there was a lot of kids that day and only one blacksmith. It would have took all day and probably all night if everything was done according to plan.

Anyhow, my son had a good time hammering the metal and also learned something new that is part of our history! If only I get him to be more interested in this kind of stuff than be more interested in playing video games! :)

He Turned 20 Years Old!

Above is my youngest brother and my nephew, his oldest son. My youngest brother turned 20 years old today here and yesterday in the Philippines. I feel bad that I didn't call him to wish him a Happy Birthday but I did send some money over there the other day and I made sure to give him a little money for his birthday. I also texted my younger sister on Chikka and told her to greet Jess a Happy Birthday for me. I hope he's not upset that I didn't do it personally, but I don't think he's that sensitive.

Anyhow, now that he's 20 years old, it just made me realized that we are really getting older! I will be celebrating my 27th birthday in less than 3 months and I kinda dreading it! LOL! Oh how time flies! I remember before I left my native land, he was just so tiny and when we visited there last 2009, I was really shocked to see how much he had grown! And now, he's got family of his own and has two adorable boys just like me! I wish I can go back to the Philippines so I can see all my adorable nephews and niece!

He's Got His Hands Full!

My husband has been so busy this week, he's definitely got his hands full, I tell you! I have never seen him this busy before. With him trying to fix his mother's yard, then got distracted looking for CV Joints to put  on his mom's truck. Thank goodness he finally found the right CV Joint that he needs. He is just waiting for it to come in the mail and then he work on his mother's truck and get it out of the way.

He is still have so many pending projects that he still needs to finish. One of that is to find Metal Fabrication company to make some metal parts for one of his projects. I don't know he is able to keep up with all of these tasks. If only I have the skill and knowledge to help him, I would not hesitate to lend him a hand!

Level J In Reading

My first grader brought his report card when he got home from school. And it's another proud moment for me! He's grade looks great especially in Reading, he is in Level J which basically means he can read like he is in second grade! Taking books from school and reading every night is really a big help. He's getting better and better everyday.

He also getting better at writing stories and spelling words correctly! If I can just get him to focus more on his school works than playing computer games or watching too much TV, he'll be much, much better than he is now but I am very satisfied of what he is accomplishing and he is exceeding my expectations, so I am happy and very PROUD!

A Feeling That My Laptop Is About To Go Dead!

I've been having this feeling that my laptop is about to go dead anytime soon. I am just waiting for the actual moment to come but I am really hoping that it won't happen though because I wouldn't be able to afford a new one. Although I do have a desktop computer, there are some things that I am not able to do using it. I have been using it for a while but I stopped and started using my laptop. The usb plug on my desktop is damaged, all of the usb plugs! I can't transfer pictures from my camera to there.

My desktop doesn't read SDHC card, it only takes regular SD card, so I am having to used a card reader which connects to my desktop computer via USB but since the USB plus is damaged, I can't transfer and save my pictures to it. So that's why I have been using my laptop, this is supposed to be just for emergency, but I have been using it everyday and I can really tell that it is getting worse everyday.

I already saved all my pictures that's saved on it because I don't want to lose any of it just in case it will just die suddenly! It already happened to me once on a different laptop and it really sucks that I wasn't able to save those pictures! Every pictures that I take is very important to me, it's a memory that I can look back in the future! And those times cannot be brought back

But anyway, this is over 4 years old, so I kinda understand why it is acting the way it is acting now. Laptops are not for long terms and what's bad about it is, if there is hardware that gets damaged, for example a video card, you cannot easily replace it like you can on desktop compute. That's why my husband was so against of me getting a laptop because he knows the consequences in the long run but I was adamant to get a laptop because of it's convenience and I don't think I'll be able to live without a laptop. So this basically means that if worse comes worst, rest assured I will be getting a new one even if I have to pay it monthly! :)

Glad To Get Some Chores Done!

It's only half of the day gone and I've already got some chores done. I am glad that I decided to them early after I took my son to the bus stop. Usually, I go back to sleep but I decided not to this morning with that intent of doing some cleaning, thank God my laziness didn't take over! Now the house looks pretty decent. Did some dusting, vacuuming the living room as well as my son's bedroom, cleaned the bathroom and did some paper sorting and threw all the ones that are not important. I even gave the baby a bath already!

After I did all of that, I decided to take a nap with my youngest son and just woke up a minutes ago and fixed lunch already for my husband, me and youngest son. I still got tons to do but I don't think I'll be doing them today. I am planning to replant my Moringa or Kamunggay plant to a bigger pot.

It's about time to take it outside but I am only taking outside during the day when the sun is out and bring it inside when the sun goes down. I only have one plant this year and I sure don't anything to happen to it! Anyhow, it is another gorgeous day outside, it would be perfect to go out to the porch and do my replanting! I hope you are all having a wonderful day as well!

Blacksmithing Tomorrow

My oldest son will be having a blacksmithing tomorrow for Cub Scout. I think this is very interesting as well as educational for the kids to know what it is and how it is done. They will also let the kids make their own knives which I think is great so they will have a hands-on experience as to how these things are made.

At first I didn't want to go, but the more I thought about it, the more I got curious and want to
see it for myself. I also want to record the event by taking pictures because this is one of those things that doesn't really happen often, so I am really looking forward to it!

I Need A New Shoe Organizer

I am currently using an over-the-door organizer for my shoes which is hanging on my closet door and I always dread opening my closet because every time I open it, my shoes starts falling. I have such a small closet and too much stuff is cram in there. I really need a much better shoe organizer. I don't have any choice but to stick to the over-the-door organizer since we do not have enough space in our bedroom for some kind of shelf dedicated for my shoes.

But I need a better one where at least it will keep my shoes from falling off because it is really starting to get on my nerve! There was one point there that when almost all my shoes started falling down, I just threw them wherever I can threw them because I got so irritated. Well, its my dang fault for having too much shoes when I can only wear one at a time but what can I say, I just love shoes and I am not a shame to say that it is one of my addictions.

Right now, I have over 30 pairs, it may not sound much to others but it is a lot to me and I am thinking seriously to get rid off some of them. There is just no point on keeping them when I don't want to wear them anymore. But first, I got to find a nice and sturdy over-the-door organizer that will at least keep my shoes from falling off!

Enjoying His Spring Break

My first grader's Spring Break started yesterday and he won't be going to school until next Monday. So far, he is enjoying his Spring Break although we are not going or we haven't taken him anywhere. He is just satisfied playing at home with his brother, watching TV, and play video games. Yesterday he spent the night at his nana's house.

If it was all up to him, he can spend the rest of his week over there. It's not that he don't want to spend time with us, it's just that his nana lets him do whatever do he wants over there. There is no limitation for him over there and that's why we did not allow for him to spend the nights over there all week. He usually just spends the night every Friday nights but he has been so good lately that we decided to let him spend the night yesterday, tomorrow and Friday again.

So that should satisfy him. I am also planning on taking him somewhere, perhaps to the mall's play area. He seemed to enjoy it very much the last time we went there. I also want to visit VS so that I can redeem my Free VS Mist. Hopefully I will be able to go before this week is over...
